Our Wilderness First Aid Course is a 16 hour course. Of this 16 hrs, 8 hrs will be online and 8 hrs will be in-person training. This WFA course is a NICA approved certification required by Level 3 coaches whose team will train outside the 1 hr. to definitive medical care timeframe.
We welcome bikers/hikers/other outdoor enthusiasts to sign up for this course if interested.
The fee to attend this course will be $150. Please feel free to reach out with any further questions.

How to certify and get your certification

  1. Sign up for your in-person course using the Info/Registration button on the course options above.

  2. Begin studying for your course by logging in to www.bikemed.org. Here you will find the textbook, podcasts and practice tests to review. Typical study time will be approximately 8 hours, however that could vary depending upon your learning style.

  3. Attend an in-person training course. After the course, you will be emailed the test code to proceed with taking the certification exam.

  4. You can find the certification exam on www.bikemed.org, then scroll to the Quick Learning Links and click on the “Certification Examinations”, then choose WFA - Wilderness First Aid and enter the testing code.

    You will get 2 attempts to pass

    There are 40 questions

    It is 40 minutes in length

    You need 70% to pass

    It must be taken in one sitting

    Questions are chosen from a question bank
